The Wombat Foundation was born.

Jacqueline Mills

Jacqui has a longstanding affinity with wombats and feels privileged to be one of the few people in the world to have sighted a Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat in the flesh. Her interests extend beyond wildlife conservation into the realm of education and training for animal welfare. She currently works as a research and policy analyst for a trade union.

Naomi Henry has been working with wildlife as a wildlife rescuer, carer and teacher for 15 years. She has been Mammal Coordinator, and Overall Animal Coordinator for Wildcare Queanbeyan. She is a member of the Voiceless Council. With her husband Ken, she has been a caretaker at Epping Forest, and experienced life with the wombats at first hand. For the last couple of years she has been administering The Wombat Foundation.

Jackie French

Jackie French is an author from the Araluen Valley, NSW. Her book "Diary of a Wombat" is a hit with the young - and the young at heart alike! Jackie has studied Bare-Nosed, or 'common', Wombats for 35 years. Visit Jackie's site at www.jackiefrench.com.

Peter Nicholson

Peter Nicholson produced the original study of the Bare-nosed Wombat in 1960 aged 15 by crawling down burrows and making friends with the inhabitants. The published findings of this inspirational study over the years lead many others to undertake further studies. He became an economist not a zoologist but has continued to champion the cause of further research into wombats and a better understanding of these loveable characters.
