After our successful crowd funding campaign raised more than $25,000 towards a new home for the northern hairy-nosed wombats, the Queensland government has reassured the community that the search for additional sites for the species remains a priority.

The Wombat Foundation is investing in research and raising funds towards finding a new site.
On Hairy-Nose Day this year, we released a report calling for strengthened efforts in light of data suggesting that after 15 years of population growth at Epping Forest National Park, the species is running out of room to grow.
With prime burrowing spots at Epping Forest National Park filling up, and a predator-proof fence preventing the wombats spreading out, it’s essential we find additional sites for the wombats.
